The Importance of Child Growth

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

We listen very carefully to the children, coming down to their level and encouraging them to be good listeners, aiming to motivate them through language development conversations and open-end questioning.

LITERACY

The children are encouraged daily to take time to enjoy books and treat them with care. We use many books with children to look at aspects such as pages, words left to right orientation, chapter, contents pages, and letters.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

We help the children to develop motor skills through indoor and outdoor play activities. The children are encouraged to use their motor skills through hand and eye coordination and gross motor skills. Other ways we  encourage the kids are through activities such as:
mark-making with chalks
drawing
cutting
painting
pouring sand and water
manipulating clay and play dough
manipulating equipment such as construction kits and tools.

MATHEMATICS

We provide many opportunities for sorting, matching, ordering, sequencing, and counting everyday objects. Practical activities and first-hand experiences regularly thought until children’s understanding and confidence in numeric have established. Role-play is also used to put the mathematical experience in its meaningful and purposeful context. It also lets the children feel safe and allows them to practice their new skills without fear of failure.

PERSONAL, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

At our facility, we aim to create awareness and appreciation of different cultures. We also encourage the children to become confident, independent-learners and have self-value and discipline. We plan for the children to work independently and collaboratively where needed.

EXPRESSING ARTS AND DESIGN

Because we value our children's creativity, they are always encouraged to express themselves through language, art, music, and dance. We believe in giving young children access to a wide range of art materials. Imaginative playing encouraged dressing up clothes (appropriately) and sand and water play with building construction materials.

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD

We capitalize on the children’s natural curiosity for living things in their desire to investigate materials, to explore their immediate environment, and to find out about the world around them. We encourage them to observe, use all their senses to question, discuss objects and situations, notice similarities and differences, and make comparisons. We provide children with experiences that help their curiosity in various ways, including talking, visualizing, painting and modeling.

Caring Child

EATING AND DRINKING

We strive to have a healthy setting status by letting children have access to water throughout the day and providing fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks. Children are also allowed to bring their food and drinks if parents desire. (Our setting is a nut-free setting).
